Cruise missile

Missiles & air defence

A guided missile that flies like a small jet aircraft, low over land or sea, and steers itself to a precise target hundreds or thousands of kilometres away. Flying low makes it hard for radar to spot.
Cruise missiles can be launched from ships, submarines, aircraft and trucks. BrahMos, built jointly by India and Russia, is one of the fastest, flying at nearly three times the speed of sound.
