Anti-tank guided missile (ATGM)

Missiles & air defence

A guided missile, carried by soldiers or mounted on vehicles and helicopters, that can destroy a tank from several kilometres away. Some, like the Javelin, attack the thinner armour on top of the tank.
ATGMs give small infantry teams the power to stop armoured attacks, which has changed how tanks are used.
