Shoulder-fired air defence (MANPADS)
Infantry
Man-portable air-defence systems: small heat-seeking missiles fired from a soldier's shoulder at low-flying aircraft, helicopters and drones. They are cheap and easy to hide, so they make low flying dangerous for any air force.
Because of the risk to civilian airliners, their sale and transfer are tightly controlled internationally.
